I have a 2006 acura tl base model and i would like to know how to reset the "tighten fuel cap message"? I purchased a new cap from the dealer and the light still comes on, I notice when i get below a half tank of gas the light seems to always come on
. Any advice or other things i need to check out to solve this annoying problem i would really appreciate it...thank's

It's the purge control solenoid valve brah. There's a TSB on it.

You're right, its the solenoid valve. This happened to me 4 years ago...so memories a bit hazy.
I think the cpu udpate was needed on my car because sometimes when I would be sitting inside and if it was on for longer than 10 mins, I would get some random error message.

ECU need to be update due to the CEL will be lit on with code "engine running lean", this is different than tighten gas cap. The update was expand the parameter on the ECU allowance running lean before throw a code again.

Thanks Vlad. I got the "Tighten Gas Cap" message on the CID, with no diagnostic codes. I just had an emission check, which included a check of the gas cap. So I was sure the problem was the PCV solenoid, as in the TSB. I replaced with an Acura part ($110). Easy operation. But it's been 4 days and half a tank of gas and I'm still getting the message.
Give no drag codes, a tested good gas cap, and a replaced PCV solenoid - what else could it be?
