Fuel trim mileage and TPMS module
Fuel trims on my 08 type a 5at with 248k are consistently at +20, so really rich and my mileage is trash at about 18-20 combined mileage. No engine codes and I'm thinking that I may have fouled 02 sensors and or a giant vacuum leak. Anyone had this before? Also my TPMS module went dead over the winter and I cannot find the damn thing, search engines spew garbage info about it apparently and can't find a vid for it on YouTube, any Sage able to help me find it? I bought a new one and as far as I can find it is plug and play.is there a procedure for the new module install?

You sure the module is dead, and not one of the sensors inside the wheels? Honestly I don't think I ever replaced module / receiver. Sensors going bad is pretty common.
That's what service manual says. If you need to remove seat back, probably finding one of the videos on how to do rear struts might be helpful. There are couple hidden bolts to remove.
If both fuel trims are high, chances are MAP, fuel pressure, or vacuum leak (most likely one of rubber hoses cracking, less likely actual intake gasket, or even front or rear motor mounts going bad [or hoses that go to the motor mounts]). If one bank is high and other normal, suspect sensor. Of course there are more possibilities, like bad brake booster, leaking purge valve, clogged injectors, etc.
No idea where to point you since I can't think of common item causing lean condition on those cars.
Do the trims react if you put extra fuel in? (by spraying brake cleaner or similar into intake)

Great response, thank you. I'll test trims with brake cleaner today. All four of my psi readings are blank which I can only think of a module causing that. I will thoroughly check all hoses, and especially the motor mounts as I would've 💯 overlooked them., My entire vehicle needs me to take a grand worth of suspension and engine parts along with a week of vacation and rebuild some shit, frobt tires are wearing on the inside and I suspect compliance bushings, also some clunks need a remedy. Do you recommend a good source for motor mounts, I went eBay to get things quickly when I first got it and they've lasted two years, I want to put some good aftermarket ones unless oe is top of the line. Once again thank you, I'd of never found that module and Google is not my friend
