Fuel Mileage Problems
Hey guys, I've had my 08 TL Type-S now for about 3 months now (owned a 05 a few years back) and I've noticed that my gas mileage is pretty rough. On average I'm getting 400km to a tank and that's 70 city, 30 highway. I always fill up with premium and even use additives every second fill-up. I just feel like this number is low and I've read other threads saying they get around 700 or even 800. Keeping in mind I don't drive the piss out of it I'm fairly conservative. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

700 to 800 km for 70% city driving? Hmmm I'd have to see that to believe it. I have about the same ratio and get a constant 500-550km per tank. 400km does seem low, but not catastrophic. What I can suggest to you, if you have an android phone, buy a cheap OBDII adapter on ebay, get torque pro from google play, get the fuel economy plug in and try to figure out whats wrong.
I don't want to state the obvious but have you checked the basic stuff like tire pressure, air filter, o2 sensors....they could potentially increase fuel consumption by 25%

The best I get doing highway only is 7L/100 km, being conservative with 70% city driving is 10-11L/100 km and city alone being a bit rough on the go pedal around 15L/100 km.
Please do not think about people who are into hypermiling or the sort as if it was the norm, it is not.
Look at fueleconomy.gov to give you an idea of what to expect from a car:
https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Powe...TL&srchtyp=ymm
As you can see, for automatic TL 18/21/26 city/combined/highway. That's "the norm". Some people are going to get better numbers because of their driving habits, some are gonna get lower results.
