Few issues with '04 TL

just bought and 04' TL automatic with 156 000 miles (i know there's alot but bought it cheap and didn't really thought about it). even thoe, so here's the fiew issues i have. i searched the forum for some answers but...

1- there's a warning in the dash that says my windshield washer liquid is low but the tank is full.

2- on the 3th gear, the car often vibrates. so i've changed the tranny oil (with dealer oil) and it's less wors but still, it sometimes vibrates. other than that, the car shifts smooth.

3- and just now, the little green light in the dash that says in wich gear you are (R,D,N, etc.) just started to flash...

4- and is there a frequent problem with some prestone leaking from the hose that goes to the heating radiator cause there seems to be a leak from there...

thanks guys. hope i'll have fun with this car cause i putted some money in some fixes that i didn't knew the car had when i bought it (my mistake that i didn't make an inspection)

1. Probably a sensor bad

2. Replace the 3rd and 4th gear pressure switch

1. Like Geetee said, probably sensor.
2. Like he said again, try replacing the 3rd/4th pressure switches (DIY tutorial available upon quick search).
3. This is a known issue for automatics and I'm not quite sure what it is, since both my old '04 TL and my '08 TL-S were/are MT. Though I've definitely read literature on it, so I'd try searching (it may even be related to number 2).
4. Replace the hoses and fasteners, could be old and dry-rotted (the hose), and the fasteners could just be tired (not holding well). This is a quick fix and shouldn't cost you more than like 20-30 bucks.

dont worry about rockauto, go to oemacuraparts.com

it by far will be the cheapest place. The DIY thread has all the part numbers for the switches. I did mine 2 months ago and its not hard at all.

changed the 3th n' 4th gear pressure switch plus did a 3x3 tranny drain fluid. WOW, amazing. felt the difference IMMEDIATLY. with the DIY's, the work was done in no time.

juste have a little question to be sure for the 3x3 i did. so when i buy a 12qts of tranny fluid, at the end, there's not suppose to be any full bottles right? basically, you drain 3x the fluid, and have to add 4x the fluid??

even thoe, i recommend this to everybody. it costed me 200$ for all the necessary for this, made the work by myself, took a couple of hours (the longest was to change the tranny fluid as you need to jack and unjack 4x times). it resovled my vibration issue and the tranny shifts smooth as a new car.

3x3 = 9, not 12! only need 9 quarts total. save the other 3 for a swap about 2 oil changes from now!
