Fans running until battery dies!

Yesterday I went out to my car to find the battery completely drained - I couldn't open other doors, couldn't pop the trunk, shift into neutral, etc. As soon as I made the last jumper cable connection, at least one of the fans came on - immediately. It started right up. When I dropped it at my service station (after hours), I realized that the fans were running much longer than the normal cool down period. I think it was both of them, though it was getting dark. I'm pretty sure this is why the battery drained earlier while I was eating dinner in a restaurant. Any ideas what unit I need to be concerned about?????

Check relays, one might be sticking.
If only one fan runs, swap it with another relay.

If it still runs, then check temp sensor.

Sounds like relay is sticking as well..

But it might also be a red herring, Get a multimeter and check the draw to see what it's coming from.

So your fans are running with the key out of the ignition?
