Fan stays on after shutting car down.

So I was driving home today from a thanksgiving dinner at my dads house. The weather is about 60 degrees. I got home turned off my car and noticed the fans were still on. I thought it was normal since my integra does this too but it shuts off after a couple minutes. I went inside and watched a movie. My friend came over about an hour later and asked why my fans were still on. I went to open the hood and saw that the drivers side fan was on. I checked for low coolant or any leaks under car and everything looked good. I drove the car around the block a couple time to see if it would over heat and everything seems normal. I turned off the car and the fan stayed on again. I went ahead and disconnected the battery.

Does anyone know of what the problem might be??
I recently replaced my power steering pump cause it was leaking, can that have something to do with the fan??

There is a sensor or sending unit that has gone bad. Coolant temp. sensor or something like that.

check the coolant temp sensor, should be on passenger side lower radiator, a wire may have gotten knocked off during pump install
Open the radiator cap with engine cold- all the way full?
and the overflow bottle- the rubber hose is still attached inside the cap? so it can transfer the coolant back and forth? and its level- at cold line?

If there is an air bubble in the system it can cause the fan sensor to remain open and run till the battery dies.
Change the coolant recently?

it will- you have found a loose connector or dirty relay or bad sensor!!
Need to actually FIX the car- they dont have mystery problems that appear once and then all is well
It will do it again at the worst possible time

So true. The problems usually seem to go away and then pop up when you're on a date or out of town with no one to help you.
