Electrical problems.. :(

05'TL 5AT

Last weekend, I noticed my seat memory button stayed lit after I opened the car door. I remember the light would always cut off as soon as I opened the door, so I decided to test it. With me in the car, I hit the key fob lock button twice. The seat memory button stayed lit, so I pressed it and the seat started to move even with the alarm on! The button has power all night long, but the light turns off and then back on every few seconds. I checked all the fuses, pulled the seat memory relay, and even switched the #20 fuse under the dash from a 7.5a to a 10a, but it still didn't fix the problem. Now it makes sense as to why my car struggles to start up like the battery is low...

Besides the seat memory button, like 2 days ago I started the car up and all the radio presets were gone! I drove it like that, but once I turned it off and back on, all the presets were back... It only did that the one time.

Lastly, one of my tail LED boards has been acting up. I've been replacing the burned out LED's individually, but they keep burning out. It's not always the same ones or the same series that are jumped together. There were 3 LED's off a couple of days ago on the passenger side board, but when I was getting ready to replace the LED's, they were all working again. Today, I noticed the same 3 are off again. It's been doing this for a while now. It'll do this eveytime right before one actually burns out. I could have sworn it was due to the load resistors, so I removed them about a week ago and did the relay mod, but no luck. I'm not saying that the 3 are related or that there's only one root to the problem, but I'm also not too familiar with the electrical system on these cars. Any ideas? Does any of this sound familar to anybody? Thx in advance.

First, thx for all the replies...

Quick update...

So, I'm still dealing with this parasitic battery drain from the memory seat. I didn't start the car for 2 days and now my battery is dead... . I haven't confirmed that the memory seat is the only thing draining the battery, but I will attempt to do the parasitic battery drain test sometime this week. I still don't understand why the memory seat button was still lit after I removed the fuse and relay! Any ideas? Am I missing something here?

Sorry for the late reply.

There is a TSB for the seat memory module. Search the TSB section for it. I know it covered 2004, pretty sure it covered 2005 as well. Not sure it will solve your issue, but worth trying...

Pull the fuse and see if you still have the drain.

The HFL is another drain culprit.

I'm getting the battery tested and charged now, so hopefully I can do some tests after I get back from this weekend's car meet.

Now that I think about it, I recently tried the HFL and it wasn't responding, but it still doesn't explain the memory seat button mystery. I wonder if these two are linked up somewhere or am I just having seperate issues... I will definitely look into it. Thx!
