DRL Failed

So a couple months ago I noticed my DRL wern't working. I figured it was a bulb that was blown. Just getting around to replacing them both with new halogens. Didn't work. I released the parking brake as I thought that was what activated them.

I checked the fuse behind the driver's side kick panel and it's not blown.

The 9005 bulb connector was cracked so I'm trying to replace that. WHich wires do I connect (factory wires to new Autozone 9005 connector?) It's on the passenger side. Facotry colors are blue and yellow. Autozone connector is blue and black.

You stated you checked the fuse by the driver's side kick panel but what about the fuse under the hood?
And as I stated in the other thread, you should get a voltmeter and check for voltages in your connectors.

Didn't know there was one under the hood. What is it labeled as?

I connected each bulb to the connector I bought and touched the wires to the battery. Both blubs lit up so the connector and bulbs are both good. I also checked the old bulbs and they, too both light up.

As for teh multi-meter won't that just show if power is being sent to the bulb? If a fuse or relay (or something else...?) is bad, it won't send power, will it???

I don't know where it is on 07-08 TLs but on my CDN 04 TL it says it is fuse number 10, "day light". It's next to the ECU [on the far side, by the fenders].

You're right. Checking with the multimeter will just show if voltage is there. You should get a reading when your car is on accessory [or turned over]. If not then there's something wrong.

If the fuse or relay is bad, it won't send voltage to the bulbs either as the fuse/relay helps complete the circuit.
Generally electronics in cars are pretty good so it's usually a fuse or relay issue.

I'll check under the hood again tomorrow but I'm pretty sure my (US model) doesn't say anything about the day light, DRL, or anything else indicative of the fuse I'm looking for. I think I found the relay, however. Will buy one from Honda or Auto zone tomorrow and see if that does it. Thanks for your help and the quick replies. I'll update tomorrow.

It was a relay next to the fan control which is right by the radiator.

For me, the part number 17 in the link worked for me. It was the one on the right and (on my car) was gray in color. Hope this helps.

I can't remember if you were the one who PM'ed me about the car being in an accident prior to ownership or not so sorry if this is knowledge you already possess.

1st, go get two new DRL bulbs and swap BOTH of them out. Turn the car on and release the parking brake. Mine's a 6-speed and that's all I have to do to activate the DRL. If they don't come on, check all your connectors. Make sure they are snapped into place. Replace the DRL fuses (I think there was one under the hood and one behind the kick panel) You said you already replaced both 17 & 18 relays (though only one need be checked. Mine looked like it had come into contact with the fan blade) Look for repair jobs...trace the wires and look for bad solder joints and repair any you find. With the car running and parking brake released, wiggle the wires to see if you can get the DRL to flicker on/off. That will help you diagnose the issue. Further. Beyond that, I'd get a volt reader and start testing to see if you have power. I'm uneducated on volt meters, I just know you can use one to see if you have power running to the area that should have power. Someone else on here I'm sure can educate us on how to use one.

Beyond THAT I can no longer be of service. These are the steps I took to get mine working again. Keep in mind I used OEM relays from the dealer. Good luck!

So i ended up putting the stock bulbs back, worked fine. Ends up one of the bulbs is out but no signs of it going bad, the filament itself is still in tact. I'll be ordering new bulbs...thanks
