Drivers window auto-up pinching...

So, lately my drivers side window doesnt like to go auto-up. It will occasionally go up fine, but most of the time, it gets to a little past half way and the pinch release things something is in the way, so it goes back down, and I have to hold the button to get it to go up. The dealership says it's because of the tint being too thick (yeah, ok....) but I can actually see the window shift/pivot forward at the point it stops and goes bvack down.

Any ideas? I dont feel like going through the hassle of a dealership crap with the tint. I've had the car tinted for almost 6 months now, this is something within the past 2 months.

TIA,
John

I'd try some lubrication on the window track. First thing I'd try is some baby powder, or some very light silicon spray.

I actually tried that as well, the problem is still there though. I dont think its a matter of lube, but rather a matter of the window being slightly off track somewhere or the track shifting inside the door and the window catching as a result.

I've been having the same problem with both front windows. The dealer replace the regulator (or something) in the door and it still goes halfway ... then back down.

They're telling me tint. This after I had the tint redone. Anyone else know what we can do?

that happened on my TL...dealer replaced the window reg. no more problems. I've also heard it might be dirty and a sensor needs to be cleaned or something...not sure, but that might explain why it doesnt happen every time

i actually think the window reg was replaced twice...once when the car was brand new and then once when i was the owner...my service history showed the same code and part number twice.
