Driver's side mirror intermittently moves on it's own

Hey AZ, In the past couple month's, my driver side mirror will randomly move on its own and start clicking while I am driving. I will then have to open the window and push the mirror into place with my hand. I did a search and found a similar thread to my problem and somebody mentioned that there is a "switch" for the mirror that might be bad. I tried searching for any type of mirror switch on Delray's site and I can't find anything. Also, my memory seat control unit hasn't been working for the last year or so. Could the problem be with that unit also?

Oh, my car is a 2004 base.

Put the L-R switch to the center position might help.

hey man; I'll be glad to help if you could just help me out with a little more information? Have you noticed any other things that don't work? Windshield washer and Auto Dimming mirror? You stated your mirrors do not hold memory? as well as the seats dont either? but they do still work correct? you can control and move them from the switches?

what i can tell you off the bat; is that these TLs along with MDXs have had lots of problems with mirror actuators;causing slight glitches like these. If you have not replaced them in the past; the part number you will be looking for is 76210-STX-H03.

Yeah, I checked the mirror switch is in the center position. Thanks though.

Sorry for the confusion. Yes, my windshield washer and dimmer work. I also checked the fuse under the dash and that is good. My seats no longer hold memory as I think the memory control unit under the seat is broke. There is a TSB for the control unit and I showed it to my dealer and they wanted about $400 to replace. I am wondering if the broken control unit is causing my mirror to move on it's own? Thanks.

How hard is it to replace the actuator? Is this something that I should have the dealer do? Thanks for the part number.

Service Bulletin 04-005 explains the issue with a bad MSC unit. The part itself isn't too bad at $143; if you or a local shop can do the job for you.

I do not think this problem is causing the issue with your mirror; as the actuator has it's own seperate bulletin as well: 09-047.

Let me know if i can help any more; let us know what you do to fix please.

actuator is relatively simple; just have to be careful popping the mirror off!

Also: 81628-SEP-A03 (m.s.c unit)

Yeah, I am not very mechanically inclined lol. I did recently find an independent Honda specialist in my area. I may give him a call to see how much he will charge to change the actuator. Thanks again for your help.

ok problem with memorie seats could be as simple as your remote is not programmed to your car it will still lock and unlock but it will not beep when you lock it,when you unlock it and open the drivers door on the cluster it should say somthing like driver 1 detected or driver 2 detected if it does not refer to your owners manual for directions on how to program the remote correctly to your car then put seat where you want it and follow manual and save it with the memorie seat buttons..Also if you had a dead battery or had it changed that could of caused this issue..

..Hope this helps...

...I LOVE MY TL...

Ryan, what ended up being the deal with the memory seats? I've read in other postings that if the actuator is not working properly and the mirrors aren't lining up, it causes the memory seat function to deactivate (some safety reason). Did fixing the actuator fix everything? Note: I already read the post on these mirror conditions and the power washer motor going out...I replace the fuse with a 10A. But right now my washers ARE working, the power seats DO work...but the memory lights DO NOT AND the passenger side view mirror clicks for a few seconds even when parked. Could be the single digit weather too.

I had this issue after having my mirror replaced completely (got side swiped and had to get a new one). My mirror kept moving all the way to the left everytime I started my car and I couldn't figure it out.

Turns out that it's a memory seat issue. I reset my driver 1 memory button and now the mirror doesn't automatically move when I start. Well, fingers crossed since I've only tested it once so far.

Hope this helps and reconfirms that it's a simple fix for those who are also experiencing this.
