Driver side back wheel

My back driver side wheel is making a squealing, whining, noise when in reverse. It does not make the noise when moving forward. I do hear a different noise when moving forward. I would describe it as a slight grinding, as soon as I hit my brakes the noise goes away.

I had my wheel baring replaced about a year ago on the other side. But I recall it making a different noise, more like a humming and it was making the noise when moving forward.

I am due for brakes, as I bought the car with 100,000 miles and now have 130,000. But those are going to be front brakes. I'm going to do them as soon as the weather clears up, because I don't have a garage.

Looking for some thought, the ride in the car is still good it's just these noises are coming annoying and rather embarrassing.

Thanks,

Ross

Perhaps your caliper is sticking and not fully backing the pads off the rotor?

Brakes.

Get them checked out.

The grinding sound is the wear indicator.

Same problem I had in 2013.
Turns out my caliper was frozen.
