Driver door trim buzzes from the radio

This just started within the last week or so. When I have the radio on with volume at about 15 or higher, I get a consistent buzz from the trim on the driver side door. I guess it's reacting to vibration from the door speaker. It's the topmost piece (black) where the lock button goes up/down. If I rest my elbow on it it stops, but as soon as I remove my elbow it's back.

I'm planing to just ignore it until I hear that the dealer has a permanent fix for my drooping headliner, too. But I'm curious if other folks are encountering this. Now that we're getting a little heat in NJ (and my car sits in the sun all day) I guess the cabin's starting to "loosen up".

Buzzing

I have a similiar problem in the passenger door. Mine is actually the storage holder on the door- If I open it partially, the noise stops. It is annoying though. I'll mention it to dealer on my next visit.

Yep, I've got the same problem from both doors!!! I have the rattle/buzz from the upper-most part of the driver side door..............and the rattle/buzz from the passenger door. The rattle/buzz from the driver side sounds like it's coming from a different location than yours thou....more up towards the center of the door for me.

Concerning the head-liner problem... I can't tell if I have a problem or not....I don't know what to look for. However, I did notice that with the sunroof open, that the directly in back of the sunroof opening , the liner does seem to drop some...

I plan on taking it to the dealer to get the door issues resolved...but will wait till they get in a part they had to order due to the fact that the interior driver's side door was damaged when I brought the car.

Yep - the latest heat increase here is making new sounds come out that were not there before in my TL. My headliner actually goes up and down as the temperature changes - like swimming in a cold pool!

Any idea how to get at this? I have the same problem too. I want to take my trim off tomorrow and try to put in just little padding, but I'd like to get a guide on how to take the door moulding off.

I have both of the rattles described above. The one coming from the drivers side door lock and the one from the passenger side storage compartment.

I'll tell you a simple fix...turn down the bass on the radio. I was originally going to take that little piece out on the driver's side and fix it with some foam tape but before I did that I read the thread about fine tuning the audio system in the 3G Garage. There's a guy who did some pretty extensive testing and he recommends setting the bass at -2 and the subwoofer at -2 with everything else centered. The clarity is so much better it's insane and the bass still hits very nicely. The best thing is that damn annoying buzzing sound in the doors is GONE.

It was totaly coincedince that I read that thread and it ended up solving the buzzing problem.

Yeah i agree with Mike. I had my bass all the way so I just lowered it a little and it sounded much better with less vibration.
