Has any one replaced the lock rod sticking out the top of the door panel? When the windows are down its in my way when i put my arm out the window. I tried to unscrew it but it doesn't go anywhere. I figured just removing it would be quick and easy but its not. Thanks for the help.

need to take out the door panel and hold it at the base so it lets you unscrew it

Has anyone replaced it with something smaller so it doesn't stick out at all? thanks for the reply.

It's been done before. Search around.

I just learned to live with it. It's not worth it to me in the case of an accident and someone can't open the door cause the the lock rod is recessed in the hole.

Like Spider said, it wouldn't be safe to do so. If you lose electrical, you will not be able to unlock your car door.

You can screw it down further, but you have to take the door panel off in order to do that...
