Well apparently someone tried to enter my back door and broke the tabs that hold on a cover on one of the handles....does anyone know if you can order these seperate or if i need a new handle...do they come painted? Part #'s and guestimation of prices would be awesome.

sorry for it being upside down...i swear it was right side up on my pc. =| This handle is the rear passenger.

 

not necessarily a sign of a break in, there are known issues with those rear door handle covers. If you source them from the dealer they'll be pre-painted if I'm not mistaken. There's a TSB on it I think and they have just those little pieces. no need for the entire handle.

Or just use superglue.

The cap/cover tabs break off every so often.

A TSB exists for those door handles with bad cap bases, but most of the time the plastic cap tab breaks over time. If this is the first time a cap broke, the base is probably fine.

The driver's side rear door cap on my TL broke a couple of years ago and I replaced it; been fine since. The passenger side rear door cap was loose some time ago, but still hasn't fallen off yet, although I bought a replacement cap months ago.

I bought from the local dealer for @$17.
