Domelight (off) causing factory alarm to trigger?
This is an odd one but after months (perhaps years) of wondering what is going on with my factory alarm going off randomly I have concluded that it is the domelight switch.
When my car is parked with the domelight switched to the "off" position the alarm will sound at any given random time. If I unlock and lock it via remote it will not sound again for some time (usually the next time I start the car and park). If I move the switch to "auto" then the alarm will not go off (it has been a few weeks now ). Is there wiring from the dome unit that triggers the alarm? Only thing I can think of is that my bluetooth module went bad almost a year ago and I removed it.

The dome light is also wired through the door switch on auto.
Are you sure that it isn't the door switch that's the issue? Because that's the only thing that actually causes the alarm to go off, if the door is opened (or if the switch has an intermittent fault).

With the switch turned off I am unable to see if one of the doors is triggering it (as the interior lights would be off).
