DIY - Changing flimsy interior door handle rod

so i picked up my car and didnt realize until i got home that my rear pass ddor did not open from inside. i originally thought it was the child lock but after taking off the door panel, i realized it was the plastic piece on the rod that was broken.

so i bought the part from acuraoemparts.com. the rear pass is part #72631-sep-a01

took the door panel off and removed door liner

unplug 2 harnesses, remove total of 3 screws come off from side of the door, they hold the assembly in place, one 10mm gold bolt towards the bottom, and 1 small screw on top that holds the door latch, and the whole assembly comes off

replace parts, reinstall. everything works!

Exclamation

Ok, instead of creating another thread I figured I would just post here...

I'm trying to replace my rods broke both on my rear doors!), but I can't seem to get these brackets out. I removed all 3 screws on the side (thank you, impact driver!) and the screw near the top. I don't see a gold nut to remove, but I did remove a silver nut that attaches to the window channel. There appears to be some sort of bracket on the inside that's holding in the assembly. See here (apologies for size. Pic is horizontal):

And here it's the state the assembly is in.

Please help!

Here are some better closeups out the connective bracket I haven't seen mentioned in any DIY.

Never mind, answered my own question after re-reading Acuratech2009's post. Just pop of the top part of the bracket (last picture) with a flathead. Once I did this I was able to worm the assembly out and swap out the actuator handle cable and re-install everything.

Just posting here to vent...

I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE GREEN CLIPS AND THOSE CONNECTIVE BRACKETS. Spent way too much time dealing with both today as I worked on my sound deadening project.

If anyone knows how to take off the door panel without breaking these clips or has any advice about how to pop off that bracket a little easier, please post here. I'm 0 for 3!

i took my front pass door panel off twice without breaking the clip..just dont let the door panel drop once you lift it over the door lock nub and gently pull the green clip out.

squeezed some insulating foam in different places to get rid of this annoying rattle.

I didn't let it drop either, tried to pry the clips gently with both my finger and then later a screw driver. Maybe I'm trying to put to much leverage on the back side of the clip. I only have one left, but I'm going to order 4 replacements anyway.

In related news, I replaced my outer door handle extension (the one that pops off for a lot of people). Was pretty easy to replace once I had the panel off and vinyl removed.
