Did i put too much oil

Hey guys its been a while, i had a day off today so i decided to flush my power steering fluid and change the oil+filter. The last couple times everything went smoothly and the oil level was fine but this time i think i overfill the engine. On the oil dipstick i barely had any oil after letting it run for 5 minutes so i added about half a quart then decided to go back home. The new dipstick level im getting is the oil covering the ''rca'' letters but just under the second dot. Its above the the square with lines where i usually have it. Do i need to remove some excess oil or is it fine if i let it that way ?

You'll be fine, your engine will burn the extra off

4⅓ Quarts exactly whenever you change the oil and filter.

It's 4.5 Qts.. You can overfill to 5 Qts no problem.

so, this question of logistics have been bothering me for some time now....
how would you remove overfilled oil without a mitivac?

I keep playing it over and over in my head and each time; taking off the drain bolt will result with ALL of it on the floor.

nah bruh.. just open up the drain bolt a bit until oil starts to seep out. Don't back it out all the way. #protip
Then measure what comes out.

1. loosen (my number) the drain plug until it just slowly drips out and let .5Qt drain out.

2. remove dip stick, put mouth around fill hole, suck as hard as you can until .5Qt comes out

3. Start your car and slam on the pedal to redline and burn off the extra oil.

3 options.. use your common sense

Remove oil filter and start engine. This way you can do oil change without even reaching for the drain plug!

I've done it with ATF when I overfilled. Just put an oil pan under the plug, remove it for a minute, then put it back. Yeah, get's ATF all over your hand but if you're wearing some nitrile gloves it's not a problem.

Then why does 4⅓ quarts always bring the level to exactly full on the dipstick?

I agree it should be 4.5 quarts. My car takes 4.3 Litres which is approx. 4.5 quarts.
