Angry Did a compresion test....noooo!!

Well..today I finally went outand did my compression test.
2008 tl-s manual

Starting from passengr to driver side.
Rear of motor

210-160-225

Front of motor

195-120-215

What should compression test read at for this engine?

Ok.next I plan on doing a leak down test.but I did pour some oil
In center cyl in front and re-did compression test and it jumped to
230.from what I understand it meens rings are bad?can anyone corect me if
Doing that is true?or is it like 50/50 chance?

I was hving misfire codes.they came off and on for a day or two at time..
Went away for a week or so then came back.been happening for months.
Thought was bad gas.changed gas stations, tried different fuel cleaners.changed plugs,
And few coil packs and switched em out to see if code would move.

Well.
Until about a month or so ago light stayed on never turned off.
And about a week ago I heard sme odd idlein fron engine.

Sux I hvent had this car a full year.

Some one over revved your car.
the common gear mis-shift is 5 to 2.

I wouldnt spend money on a leak down test. I would just tear into the motor to see the damage.
bent valves and heads need to be sent off to be repaired

Well I have a leak down tester somwere.
I still wasn't sure of even wasting time doin It.

Do you mean redlining the rpms when you say overreving?

I've taken it to about 5500 rpm maybe twice in 4th 5th gears.didn't feel comfotable goin
Any higher.that's the hardest I've pushed her.could this have done it?

But I think I had the misfire codes before this.they came and went.and it was months back that I drove it that way.
Other than that regular driving...

Maybe that's why the dealer kept trying to get me to buy warranty..saying I'm gonna need
It one day..thought was kinda fishy...but I figured that's How they get their $.

I'm not even sure if I wana touch it myself.don't know much about these engines.

Oh I told my wife about possible bent valves about a week ago..mentioned aftermarket valtrain, port and polish?lol she didn't seem fond of the idea though..

It'll probably be parked for a while.not sure if I have that kinda budget right now.

these cars are safe to take to redline. 7000 RPM.
there is a computer controlled fuel cutoff on UP SHIFTS only.

THERE IS NO COMPUTER FUEL CUT OFF FOR DOWNSHIFTS.
so, if you go from 5th gear to 2nd gear, the valves will bend

The computer kills fuel and spark at the same rpm whether you're up shifting or downshifting. Killing the fuel and spark won't help when the engine is mechanically over revved by putting it in the wrong gear since its linked to the wheels. Only if it locked up the wheels would it not over rev. The engine is technically "off" during an over rev mis shift.

A minor over rev can show no symptoms until later. After the slightly bent exhaust valves open and close millions of times the valve seal gets worse and the valves over heat since they only way they cool themselves is when they're transferring heat into the valve seats in the heads. Once they can no longer close all the way and evenly they run hot. The misfires get worse and worse over time as compression goes away.

For what its worth an exhaust valve is opening and closing 6x a second at idle, 18x per second at 75mph in 5th gear and 57x per second at redline. Math was done in my head and I failed algebra..... twice, so don't trust it.
