When I debadged the glue residue was the only thing left behind and I only saw it when the dust would cling to it. I didn't use a heat gun, dental floss, googone and stratchx was all I needed.

This definitely looks different. Why would anyone allow something like this to happen?

I just had a someone look at it and they said it looks like a lack of clear coat under the emblem. They agree with me thinking part of the trunk was touched up and resprayed with the "TL" emblem being masked off.

Im stopping at a body shop today after work to see what they say. Push comes to shove I can always pick up some double sided tape and put it back on, but I think i want it fixed if the quote isn't rediculous. IMO I think it just needs wet sanded to smooth out then reshoot some clear.

Atleast I get my A-spec kit in the mail from the group buy tomorrow, Something to look foward to!

I might be wrong and can be corrected but I understand you can touch up a portion of a panel & blend it but you can blend the clear. The complete panel has to be cleared.

Well after 2 body shops both say the trunk was resprayed and the "TL" emblem was only masked off. What you see in the pic IS a clear coat trace with the midcoat showing in the innner.

They also looked over the car and said the only thing resprayed was the trunk and they saw no signs of body damage anywhere.

The bad is both said since its a tricoat the whole trunk would need to be resprayed. Cheapest quote is $355.00 and another $80.00 If i want the Acura symbol shaved.

I've got the same problem.

without flash

This after Goo Gone, Meguiar's Ultimate Compound with an aggressive hand-held foam sponge, and Meguiar's ScratchX2.0 with a buffing foam sponge. It broke-off during washing, and I was hoping to just debadge.

I've read through most of these posts on debadging & I don't understand why anyone would do such a thing. What's the rationale for debadging?

I don't understand why your against debadging lol. when I bought my car it had "open road" on it and like dealership crap all on the rear bumper, I looked like a advertisement. The "acura" part looks cheese on these beautiful cars, (personal opinion ofcourse) so that came off. The TL TYPE S Looks nice cause want people to know its a type S. But after a while and wanting a new look, took that off.

Basically its a cleaner look that makes your car look more unique. Debadging also makes people wonder when they pull next to you if they can beat you or not because there not sure if your base or fully loaded under the hood.

My friend has a 335i with chip and exhaust debadged and it looks like a 325 but when this Mustang GT thought he was about to smoke his doors off, next thing yu know we can't even see him in the rearview mirror. Another + for debadging. Some people love it, some people like people knowing what they have.

sorry to hear this. i, like many others, had no issues debadging. im going to make a mental note for future reference though that debadging while car is still new is probably a good idea. which fortunately for me i did. i hope it works out for you.
