dealer scratched my rim
i took my car in for them to fix a rattle. They did but noticed a scratch on my 2007 type s rims, i called to ask if they have a car wash that has a track on it and they admitted it was probably the car wash machine. Now i have to go back in to have them fix. What a pain!

Things happen
I insist on the work order saying NO WASH and a note in the car that says the same thing
You dont want to know who they have running the cars around the lot and thru the washer
Do you REALLY want them touching your car again?
do your own service and know its all done correctly.

They scratched and chipped the engine cover, while i gave it for service. My opinion is the mechanics in Acura Dealers are total dummies. No clean work ethic nor problem solving skills. Sometimes i wonder if they are underpaid than McDonald's workers and they just do a shoddy job and pretend that none of the problems exist. Well, i am curious as to what they drive !!!

While I can completely understand where everyone is coming from on the notions they have about dealer mechanics and such, I have to say that my original dealer was always very good about a lot of things.
First, I let them wash my car because they always hand-washed it and did a nice job.
Second, my dealer scratched two of my rims while re-balancing the tires to eliminate the vibration. *I* scratched a third when I lightly clipped a curb. I brought the car in to them as they said they would repair the two that they scratched (by sending it out to a rim shop, not by doing it in-house). When I went back to pick up my car two days later, I found that they had replaced the entire set of rims and tires with new ones they just pulled off of another TL that they just sold. With about 7,000 miles on the tires I had, this was a VERY nice gesture on their part.
As far as the mechanics - I've never had any issues with the way my car was treated at my dealership.
So, long story short here is that I really do believe that it depends on WHO YOUR DEALER IS. Painting with broad strokes often makes us feel good, but does include those that should not be included in the generalization.

I just scratched my 24-hour old TL-S rim backing out of the drive way and looking at the rear camera instead of how close I really was to the brick lined driveway.
How exactly do you go about repairing the rim? Is it even repairable?
Thanks guys!
