Dead passenger seat warmer in '04 TL

I recently purchased a 04 TL to replace my honda as my beater car.

The passenger seat warmer was dead when I bought it. I have seen some information online with 03 and older seat warmers that a connection breaks in the seat. Is this the same problem on 04 TL's as well?

The seats are fairly easy to take apart. So the heater is made up of two sides. Left and right. I measure the resistance for the heater and got an open circuit on one side and 13k on the other side. I measured the driver working side and got 9 ohms on both sides. So I am fairly confident its the heater.
Found part here for $227 part# 81134-SEP-A01
The driver side seat bottom is part# 81537-SEP-A01 and only $100. Anyone know if there is anything technically different between the two parts?

Never had the Acura seat apart, but on many others some have had success in finding then repairing the break. I couldn't be bothered trying to find a break in that skinny wiring so I would replace the unit or install new aftermarket units in both seats.
Having said that, if both were the same, Acura would use the same part number, but the passenger side may be different because of the passenger air bag sensor location in the seat bottom. Just a guess.

That's exactly right.

Q: How do I access the back of the head unit to install an audio interface?

When I took it apart I didn't see any sensor in the seat bottom. I think it might be in the seat back. Which is why there is no back heater. So that doesn't explain the difference in seat bottom heaters.

Looks as if you are correct in that the '04 has the OPDS in the back rest, and the '05-'06 has a weight sensor unit under the passenger seat along with weight sensors.

I went ahead and just ordered the correct part. I'm to chicken to order the driver side to stick in the passenger side. Could be a way to save $127 though if they are the same part. Makes no sense to me why the driver side is that much cheaper.

Recieved the new seat warmer yesterday.

I installed it and the seat gets warm and works great now.
Hardest part was getting the hog rings back in.

After I removed the old one I inspected it pretty good and I dont see any breaks in the wire. There are 2 additional electronic parts towards the front of the seat on the warmer itself. I dont know exactly what they are or do but I'm guessing they went bad. I have some additional photos that I will post later.
