Your ballasts and/or ignitor might be toast. The ballast is usually what goes first, you can not replace it with an aftermarket one as the ballast is made for the headlight and bolts on to the underside of the headlight.
Buy a used one from the private sale section.
Your ballast only runs the HID bulb (hi/low) and not the DRL etc.

so there is no way to install a aftermarket ballast, and just leave it strapped to something instead of bolting it on the head light?? i hope so, it would be cheaper for me, as i do have a extra brand new aftermarket ballast laying around

how do you see with 8000s??? wow
You can wire anything you want- just be careful as HID have a lot of voltage laying around inside~
Was there moisture problem with the headlight housing- water inside the lens?
thats the usual suspect when a ballast goes out- the water drips inside the lens and down onto the ballast thru a drain hold/vent
(assuming my gen2 is similar to gen3)

The ballast mounting is the lower support for the entire light unit. You'd have to cobble up some sort of replacement support.
