Dashboard Rattle
Dashboard Rattle
OK... I'm going to open yet another thread dealing with rattles on the 3G TL.
I've had my 2008 for about a month now and I truly love the car and plan to keep it for a long time to come. It just went over 55K miles.
However, its first rattle cropped up a few days ago -- it sounds like it's coming from behind the center of the dashboard and always happens when going over bumps of any kind (except at highway speeds, go figure).
Anyone have 3G dashboard rattle issues? Was the dealership any help or were you able to adddress it yourself? Any rattle horror stories out there?
Thanks!

should check out the garage ... a 60 second search lead me here: http://ww.tl.acurazine.com/forums/sh....php?p=8315833
I recently scooped up a 2006 TL and have been incredibly happy with it but bothered by the rattle issue too. Searching the forums I found a fix for just about every one of them.
Some of the best advice was to clean out the car completely before trying to diagnose a rattle. Don't have anything in the glove box, center console, door pockets, etc. You never know where a sound could come from and throw you off.
As for the dashboard driver's side rattle, that could be a number of things such as - the vanity mirror cover on the visor, the tweeter, inside the vent to the left of the instrument cluster or the kick plate under the dash. My dash rattle was the kick plate (forgive me if that's not the right term).
The point is once you solve one rattle you'll find another but this forum is full of fixes for all of them. Kudos to all the long time members that helped me fix all my rattles....thanks a bunch and keep up the good work!

If only all repairs could be that easy... lol
Damn... I got in my car the other night after work and no sooner than I started the drive home, the damned rattle was back! Tried opening and firmly closing the glove compartment but no luck.
Ugh...I hate rattles on a car. Especially on one as beautiful and comfortable as this one which would otherwise be perfect in my book.
Oh well, back to the garage... lol.
