Well, I actually replaced my stock tweeters with the new ones and they just sat in the opening. I would pull your aftermarkets out of the bezel you made with the oem tweet and then just cut the opening in the dash topper just big enough for it to squeeze into it and sit flush. I guess aftermarkets work best since there is a lip on the edge of the tweeter for it to "sit" on.

Yay! funny you should mention that...I swear, I'd probably think about getting one even if mine wasn't cracked. The fact that I NEED to hide the cracks now made it a no brainer but with the way it ended up...the execution was key and made me love it.

So, as promised I called dash topper and they are openly affiliatiated with dash designs. They ship both products out of the same building, both are made from the same materials. The saleslady told me that the only difference between the two is the outside trim. Dash toppers has there trim made out of the same material and stitched to keep the elegant look, whereas dash designs simply rolls theres back. Also by calling and selecting sedona suede i only paid $5 more for dash topper. I guess they need to update there website. So all in all, call in your order, I paid $76 shipped for sedona suede and lettering in script. I wasn't going to to do the script originally, but after seeing t0talacuratl's I believe it still keeps the luxurious theme in mind. Additionally, with adding script it will be more like I "wanted to" put on a sedona suede dash cover rather than I "had to."

I tend to agree...
Check your box of your tweeters...there are usually 2 or 3 different mounting options and one of them is this butterly clip thing that allows you to drop it into something and screw it tight and then sit the actual dome in that.
Mine don't budge at ALL...they are tight in the dash topper.

I am using those clips with to mount them on the factory grille sockets. I didn't think about using them to mount on the dash..so that's a good idea. I guess since they don't weigh that much, and I don't go off roading, that will work fine. I'll post pix when i'm done. They are said to be shipped out thurs, so hopefully i should get them by this weekend.

If anyone wants a black suede dashcover with x's already cut out for "aftermarket" tweeters hit me up. 30 bucks shipped. The placement of my x's are exact. I made sure that the material was nice and flat on the entire dash and directly over the microphone on the passengers side. It looks really good in my car...only problem is i have factory tweets and wont be able to do what i intended...i only wish I had realized this before i cut the mat. If nobody wants it..i will just rock it the way it is. You have to look at it closely to even see the cuts.

Dude...why didn't you f*** yours up before I bought mine!?!?! For 30 shipped and the pictures above, someone would be NUTS not to jump on this.
Sorry I didn't specify that I had aftermarket tweets man. I should have...I bet you can absolutely find a solution. I actually just did in my head...get a dremel and cut away some of the plastic and CREATE a lip on your factory tweeter. I BET this will work.

I just noticed yesterday that I now have a lovely crack down the right side of the passenger air bag outlet...damn...
Unfortunately, I still have factory tweets in this ride or I'd take you up on that topper. I guess I'll go for a new one now.
Thanks for the photos to all that posted. I'll try to get a shot or two of mine up when I get it.

Thanks man...
honestly, I don't see it STOPPING it from cracking since it's cracking from the extreme hot/cold not from direct sun. BUT, if it's covered, you won't give a phuck if it does crack!
Thomas...
OEM tweeter looks like this
______
!!!!!!!!!! My idea was to use a dremel on just the underside portion to look more like this:

Sorry dude, best I can do.

Actually, tried to make a drawing using the exc. points...but it shifted when I posted.
Here, I drew it...rudimentary and not rocket science but since the top is nice and the tweeter itself doesn't fill the entire area under the plastic cover, you can cut away to make it have a lip.

hmm i got a question about cleaning the dash cover, or dusting it off.
the reason I wanted to get this dash cover was because
1. scared of getting a cracked dash of course and
2. tired of cleaning my dash 2 times a month and quickly seeing dust and other small particles build up on my dash just after a few days of cleaning
so how would one clean this dash cover? or is it not needed? since it's velcro'd onto the dash, can you just pull the dash cover off of the velcro (velcro still adhered to the dash) and dust it off or clean it if needed, and just slide it back in place?
or will you have to re-velcro everything?

nvm I guess i'll just figure out how to dust it off when i eventually get to that point.
i just placed a order for mines. free shipping and 15% discount code brought it to a total of
I opted for the "Brushed Suede" because after seeing the "Sedona" suede, the only difference i see are small miniature holes in the dash cover, and honestly it makes it look kinda odd.
the brushed suede however is even all the way through. I just felt that it would flow alot better, compared to Sedona with all the miniature dots. I don't see how adding those little dots or holes makes the dash cover instantly "sporty" lol. that's what the description for the "sedona" one says.

the little holes made it look less like a carpet sitting on my dash IMO. Happy with my decision...
yes, if you pull it off, the velcro stays...BUT, you won't want to have to do that to clean it. I intend to do a light soft brushing on it or some compressed air to clean it. That'll work.
Also, if you've had carpet compared to tiles you see the dust on tiles MUCH faster so you probably will clean it less anyway!

Thanks Thomas for the killer deal. Im going to cut the circles out for the stock tweeters and stitch some webbing around the hole to make it look like it came that way.
There is a black velour one for sale locally for 20 bucks. I almost bought it but then I saw this thread. The ads pictures suck but for 20 bucks it might be worth it if anybody wants one.
