I did...but I paid double the price for the Dash-Topper brand. After watching the video on their website, I felt it was worth the added expense. I'll put up pictures once received. I got Sedona Suede in black...

ThomasV: Thanks for the pics!!

My dash has developed a crack to the left (drivers side) of the center speaker. A different spot then everyone else but it's an eye sore to me when driving. It's crazy how it goes away when it gets hot out though!! It molds back together when hot outside and then the crack shows again once it's in shade and/or cools down a bit. I wonder if there's a way to seal the crack up and stop it while the material is molded together. Hm...? Any ideas for me?

Rockstar: Can't wait to see those pics. I'm not a fan of the whole dash cover look but it's a helluva lot better then shelling out tons of money for a new dash that might do it again. One good thing is that these dash covers might help with sound quality in car lol. We shall see.

What happened to main_shoby?? He got the Sedona Suede from AA. It'd be nice to see the 3 different types and how they look, differ from each other, etc. Good thread!

Haven't heard from him!

If the crack were fixed, there might be a solution. But since it does contract and expand, it's doesn't hold. I did the silicone caulk and it looked ok for a bit, but it doesn't stop the crack from continuing (which has now happened). I then thought I'd use a very fine black thread and sew it up with a curved needle, but thead pulls through the material and let's be honest, suede cover would look better than stitches.

I heard that some people have had the dash cover replaced and they end up with all sorts of annoying noises and creaking. I have always hated the dash mats, but i think getting a quality one that looks like it should be there, will be the best solution for all.

main shoby, where you at?!?!?

As promised, got my dash-topper brand dash topper, did sedona suede in black. Initially, thought it felt flimsy right out of the box...but in hindsight this is probably so it doesn't look like you have a huge rug on your dash. After install I have to say that I'm absolutely super happy with it and the idea of dash replacement and cracks on dash is gone from my mind. I'm fine with this. Even my fiance says she thinks it looks great and she was against this.

Put it on my dash for a day without velcro just for fitment.

Tweaked a bit, rubbed down with ipa in areas where i was going to velcro. I used some industrial white home depot velcro. You only use the hook side of it...so makes it easy to make adjustments. Install took me an hour but was very easy. Also, I don't like advertisements on my dash so tag came off...it ripped the stitching, but I can fix that even though you don't see it.

Marked my tweets with china pencil and cut out an X, forced tweets in sideways and cut the x bigger and bigger till it sat flush.

Thanks, man. Not my idea, it comes with velcro, I just sat it on the dash for a day with no adhesive to see if it would stay, following day I added the velcro etc. They give you 2 strips but I highly recommend you get a roll of the industrial stuff in addition to. This'll keep it all in place.

Thanks, gentleman.
In reviewing the pics above, I think you should probably save yourself the 40 bucks and go with autoanything...if you look, it looks pretty similar to mine at 1/2 the cost.

I really like the suede, it looks clean and like it could be OEM. My dash has not cracked yet, but I can see the outline around the airbag and it is a little lumpy looking. I am considering purchasing this dash cover as preventative maintenance since I know my dash will eventually crack from this FL heat. My only concern is what would happen if the passenger side airbag were to ever deploy? Is this dash cover engineered with that in mind?

It is. On the underside you can see that that area of the cover has a flap and would allow the airbag to pop open.

awesome! I am going to do the same with my tweets so I can expose them. Also, it appears that by making the cutout for the tweets you can use them to help anchor this down even better. Grabbing industrial velcro is something I have been intending on doing as well. I've noticed it was hard to get my velcro to stick in some spots so I will have to use the alchohol method to clean first. Im sure it was just from residue I had used to clean my dash with previously.

Overall, I'd say it looks good. I would also suggest to you other guys to save money and go with the "cheaper brand." Compare the pics...to me..they look like they are made by the exact same company...just branded differently. I will look at my box later and find out where it shipped from. Perhaps they are screwing with you and just charging ya more! Not only is the cutouts from factory exactly the same, but they even stitched the tag and the instrument cluster material exactly the same.

^^^totally concur with that. Plus, autoanything HAS a sedona suede...so it's probably identical to mine.

Cut out the tag though, that much i do recommend. No free ads on my dash!

The tweeters definitely help anchor down and to be honest, you can hear thru the material, but it definitely muffles the highs if you don't. About the industrial velcro, go for it. I used very little of the black velcro they supplied and where I did use it (even with alcohol prep) it isn't really holding. The industrial stuff is like BONDED with the dash. Which I no longer care about since I'll never look at that cracked POS again.

Yea, Im going to redo mine this weekend. I've noticed with it the way it is now (tweets not anchoring and poor velcro) that if i have teh windows down and back up...air gets under it and of course it flies up. Deeffffffffinitely gonna go with the industrial str. I left my tag on...It actually looks ok so I said screw it. lol

IMO, it looks cleaner with no tag...almost like it came on the car. Do the alcohol and the industrial stuff and you'll be happy. I know what you mean...I ride highway and windows down and mine was flapping up like crazy.

Good luck!

As promised.

The box that delivered my mat was from:

AZ accessory Group
6014 S Ash Ave
Tempe, AZ 85283

Post the location your dash mat was from so we can confirm whether or not its one in the same company overcharging for the same item.

Shoot, threw it away the next day. Once I had cut it and removed tag, I knew I didn't need the box.

I'm sure it is though...quality and style and shape and everything look identical. Except I paid 40 more.

I think the Sedona suede and the brushed suede both look good, and I like the fitment of both covers.
Today was I think our 67th or so day of temps over a 100, and I look at that dash every day just waiting. Lots of times the inside of the car is 140 when I get in, and that is with sunroof and rear windows cracked and my Eclipse sunshade. (love that thing!!!!)
When mine finally cracks then I will have to choose between these two.
I really appreciate the pics and info from yall. Hope more folks get these and post pics. I'm subscribed.......

Not a problem, man. Honestly, I'm glad to be done with it. No more being worried or being so anal with my sunshade. It's done with and dealt with now!

Man i am going for that sedona suede for sure. It distinguishes the grandma'a carpet dash from elegance and luxury. I tried ordering it online but got many errors. I'm just gonna call it in on tuesday...damn holiday weekend.

I installed the Sedona Suede from Dash Designs (formerly dashtopper?) 6014 South Ash Ave Temp. AZ 85283-2873. It cost $54.95 with a shipping fee of $21.95 to Canada = the best $76.90 I ever spent! I"m happy with the results. I agree the velcro won't stick well to the CRACKED dash so I super glued the pieces! I also removed the dash design tag!
I hope someone pulls the trigger on the Dashtex design - I have a feeling its a real winner too.

You are totally right!! same exact address, deffferent phone numbers/emails/names/prices. I'm going to call them both and get to the bottom of this. $15 is $15, but if it means cheaper quality $15 ain't s#!&. Also, COLINGER post some pix so we can see for ourselves!! Like rockstar143 says lets get more photos on here!

That's what I was thinking...if it's the case, it was $46 shipped (with a coupon code) at autoanything vs. $79 shipped. Talk about good marketing, that video did it for me too!

Here is mine! After seeing rockstar143's, I had to get cover my ugly crack-pot of a dash. I got the sedona suede in black with inscription. I had to get more velcro, but it fits great! Thanks for being the guinea pig!

just marked and x'd out my dashmat for custom fitment under the tweets.. cut it on both sides..than i realize...in the last post for Rockstars DIY I didnt notice he had aftermarket tweets with covers. >< fml.

Has anyone custom fit it yet with the stock tweats? Im hoping I dont have to reorder a new mat. I think I could get tweats at cost anyway so I may just need to upgrade my tweets.

^^^sorry man...totally forgot to mention that. Although, now that I picture the OEM's...they have a little lip too, no? Just cut the hole just big enough for them to squeeze into place. Should work fine, no?

total ac...thanks for the pics...it's the same manuf. for sure...looks identical. BETTER NEVER CHANGE YOUR USER ID I didn't get an inscription cause I was trying to take attention away from it...plus, someone else may not want rockstarwillpissonyourwholelife inscribed on my dash. LOL

Thanks guys! I wasn't going to do the inscription, but then I said "what the hell"! Not worried; my AZ name is not going anywhere.

That's why I didn't do the hole for the tweeters. I have aftermarket, but I had my tweeters glued under the original tweeter cover. I notice that rockstar143 had aftermarkets. I really don't notice a difference in sound, so no worries!

Honestly, I did...I tried to leave them below the dashmat...but before velcro'ing down I put on a song at normal volume and listened to it covered and pulled the cover back (a la sliding glass door in ace ventura) and it definitely muffles it. A lot, no, but enough to not hear the crispiness of the highs.

No, unfortunately the stock tweats are not flush with the dash.. they are sunken in and the wire mesh comes up almost perfectly up to the dash.
Anyone have any good tweats for sale?

You're probably right. Or your tweeters are better than mine. If I can find a solution, I will have to open it. I'm surprised that it didn't come that way; for the tweeters and center speakers.

Yeah I don't think it would work well for the stock tweeters. I might have to look for another aftermarket ones.

So, as promised I called dash topper and they are openly affiliatiated with dash designs. They ship both products out of the same building, both are made from the same materials. The saleslady told me that the only difference between the two is the outside trim. Dash toppers has there trim made out of the same material and stitched to keep the elegant look, whereas dash designs simply rolls theres back. Also by calling and selecting sedona suede i only paid $5 more for dash topper. I guess they need to update there website. So all in all, call in your order, I paid $76 shipped for sedona suede and lettering in script. I wasn't going to to do the script originally, but after seeing t0talacuratl's I believe it still keeps the luxurious theme in mind. Additionally, with adding script it will be more like I "wanted to" put on a sedona suede dash cover rather than I "had to."

Hey rockstar, I have aftermarket tweets too. I took out the originals drilled a 2" hole through the factory grille and sat mine inside from the top. My question to you is right now it fits super flush...very tight squeeze. with the dash inside did you have to drill out the grille bigger? if so by how much to fit the tweet and the slack of the dash cover? Here are mine right now.
