damaged my emergency brake slightly

I damaged my emergency brake handle a little... got careless and dragged a heavy box of drinks over it, and I've made a small tear in the faux leather or whatever the handle is wrapped with.

Any way to fix it? How much would I be looking at to have the faux leather wrap replaced, or would they need to replace a larger area than just the handle material?

At the most it should cost you would be $130 + S&H. Try taking it to an upholstry shop to see if they can fix it. Otherwise it looks like you have to replace the entire assembly found here http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

Good luck!

is it the actual handle, or just the boot? If its the boot, thats probably a cheap fix. If its the handle it's self, follow JDM5's advice and go to an upholstry shop first.

I had two burn holes in the center console of my S2000 from a careless friend with a cigarette, and he was able to make them almost un-noticeable to the untrained eye (read: someone who never knew they were there in the first place)

They can do amazing things with leather and vinyl now in cars!

it's the... handle part... i mean it's just a little scuff on the faux leather stuff that you grab onto. The problem is it stands out, it's like a different color. I am actually thinking about putting a drop of leather dye on it and letting it seep in to see if it's black it might be hard to notice.

Just take it to an Upholstry shop they might be able to repair it. I know there is a mobile guy around here that does some awesome work. Mugen makes a parking brake cover that might work but it is a gray suede and doesn't come in black unfortunately.

edit: hmmm i looked up momo brake handles, and it looks like they only fit acura integras? what is going on here... lol confused!

The mugen one is for the Integra/RSX DC5 but I think it may still work. I could be wrong though. I need to look at the handle on my TL I guess. here is a link to it http://www.jhpusa.com/catalog/produc...8ab4398611568c

Are there any total recplacement aftermarket handles that fit? Like I said I saw some momos but the adapters only listed Integra as compatible?

Thought I'd throw that in.

I haven't seen an aftermarket brake handle that looks good.

Hehe... well actually I did take a pic... but it was such a boring picture I just scrapped it. It's a little light colored scuff about the size of a small pea on the top of the handle. *golfclap*

Solved! I bought some black scuff remover for shoes at the grocery store, and used the applicator to dye the spot black and then I wiped off the rest.. it seems to have soaked in and you cant really even see it any more.

Uh...there's a large compartment at the back of the car called a trunk that is perfect for heavy boxes....
