How did you determine they're not firing? If its misfire codes they will usually be mostly working but have a misfire from time to time such as at idle when cylinder pressures and effective compression are down assuming its due to low compression. It's either fuel, spark, or compression lol.
Is this a manual transmission?

I bet you its loose spark plugs... they are notorious in these engines, especially cylinder 5.
Have you ever had your spark plugs changed? What is the mileage on your vehicle? If you have not, I would start there. If not, you will most likely need to replace them, and have a helicoil threaded in your cylinders. Then you will need to scope into the cylinder head and make sure there are no chunks of old thread, spark gapper, or spark plug diode inside there. Your best bet would be to spray some brake cleaner inside of there and vacuum everything out and repeat this at least twice. Then check the valves to make sure that no pieces of metal adhered to it. Otherwise you may need new valves if you didnt catch this in time.

My engine light came on so I took it to autozone and they put they code reader on it. It said no spark on cylinders 3 and 5. Not sure how they could read that without the car running? The car has 77k miles on it and the plugs have never been changed. seems funny that 2 of them would go bad at the same time tho.

no tapping or otherwise weird noises. Was running great and I came back from a 300 mile car trip in the rain and then all of the sudden ran like crap with the engine light on.

Has the windshield ever been replaced? Were you running the AC or defrost?

I vote for resetting the MIL and seeing if it comes back. maybe nothing at all. How does it drive? if 2 of 6 cylinders are not firing it would be painfully obvious.

it drives like it's miss firing. steady, no difference whether I floor it or just cruise, still runs rough. How do you reset the MIL?

One more piece of data- what's the actual codes (the numbers from Autozone) that were thrown? That would help in the diagnosis quite a bit.

Take it back and get some actual codes- CEL lights when read give a specific diagnostic code, not just that those 2 cylinders weren't firing. The numbers would be really helpful.

Those are misfires on 3,5 and 6. Is this a manual? sure sounds like an over-rev. or possibly a MICU / ECU with some water

Without more information, it can be sooo many things.
I would: Visually check spark plugs, check for spark or Clear the codes >swap the misfiring coils with other cylinders>check for misfires and see if the misfires follow the bad coils..to start with.
Spark plugs
ECM
Coils
Injectors
Map sensor
Vacuum leaks
& More..

ok finally got around to working on this again. I decided to go ahead and replace all the coil packs and plugs. But WTF? the number 3 coil pack was melted to the wall and I can't get it out. the top of the coil pack broke of when I tried to remove it. Has this happened to anyone else? how did you fix it? I'm pretty handy and don't wanna take to dealer. Also I read that the a/c drain tube could of caused this by dumping on the ecu? HELP!!!!!

Did you check the ECU like we said to?

water dripping onto the ECU causes the coil packs to melt!
break off that coil pack and replace it!
you might want to check the ECU and get that A/C drain line unclogged.

Follow this procedure to determine if a coil pack has failed on an Acura TL 2004-2008
When you discover your engine is running rough and continue to drive it after the flashing CEL illuminates your computer is registering multiple failures.
Clear CEL, start the car and run till your CEL re-illuminates, then immediately shut the engine off and read the CEL. This process will give you a clean reading on which coil pack has failed. Using this method, as it has been the case on three separate occasions. I then replaced the CYL. # 5 (P0305) with a new coil pack and problem solved.
This procedure has worked three separate times to identify the right coil pack for replacement. Hope that helps on coil pack issues. Later
