Cylinder Head

Yesterday I posted "Lost Acceleration", today the dealer told me my car did spit out a spark plug. He said he has seen these cars lose plugs, usually at 90 K mi, not 58K. Evidently the plug became loose and blew out of the engine. This causeddamage to the cylinder head which will be replaced tomorrow. The cost is $4000.00, the power train is covered for 5 years or 60 K mi, I have 58 and change. I'm still confused how this could have happened. Moral of the story, check your spark plugs from time to time

With these 100K plugs, you don't even think about plugs for a long time. It does seem odd that he mentions a certain mileage that this happens. But with anything that goes through many heat cycles, loosening is possible.

If periodic maintenance is done by a dealer, I wonder if that is one of the checks?

4 grand to fix, damn......

6 years or 70,000 miles, whichever
comes first. ....

Regardless, glad to hear it's covered.

Power Train 6yr to 70 K mi.

Thanks, this is good to know. The Mech at the dealers told me 5 yr, 60 k mi. I was under the impression it was 4 yr, 50k mi.

4-years/50k miles is the "bumper-to-bumper" warranty.

Powertrain gets a little extra.
