Curb rash on rims

Curb rash on rims

is there a way to fix curb rash yourself. Its getting expensive i.e. 125.00 every time I need the front rims redone? 2006 TL stock rims ???

If you can get the matching color, you can always sand the area down and repaint. I've also seen body filler added to deep gouges and heavy scratches, sanded then painted.
Better to just stay away from the curbs.

It's so easy getting curb rash. I have some mild rashes on two of my wheels that I fixed reasonably by sanding the rim with some fine sand paper (300 grit?) and then using Acura Starlight Silver touchup paint. I got this information originally by searching this forum. The touchup paint does a decent job masking the problem for the casual observer. I think next time I'll use a dremel to do a better sanding job because one of my rashes is not as smooth as it could be. Good luck!
