So I noticed that the cruise control button does activate the light on the dash but it doesn't stay clicked nor does it activate cruise control. After messing around with it while driving I noticed that if I hold the cruise control and then the decelerate button it does activate cruise control but when I let go it shuts off. Any advice?? Not a huge deal but would be nice to have work.

Also this answers my original question of maybe theres a mechanism broken but I think not if cruise control activates.

 

Common issue on 07-08 TL. People have just jammed the button down using different objects. Do a search, you'll find it.

 

You'll need to replace the button on the steering wheel
