Creaking noise while turning the steering wheel...
I have a loud creaking noise while turning the steering wheel in either direction. I only hear it when at a stand still or just before reversing. It makes my car sound like sh*t, when I go through the drivethru or backing up in my driveway.
I took it to my mechanic, but he said it's from the car being lower for so long. He also said even if it's replaced with a new one, it will happen again eventually. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Most likely, you have to get your O-ring replaced. This is pretty common with TL's; they tend to do this during winters!
O-ring itself is like 2 dollars; it's the labor that'll cost you :/
Edit: you'll find this helpful!

O-Ring
Had the same issue with my 2007 TL Type S. Made a growling/screaching noice when the steering wheel was turned either direction, but noise went away after the car warmed up. First thought it was a the power-steering pump ($$$), but turned out to the be o-ring ($). The total cost was $65 at the dealership, which included the power steering fluid, part, and labor.

gotcha. Just wasnt entirely sold on a creaking sound from a power steering pump. Maybe power steering rack? Have someone turn the wheel while you look/listen at the pump?
I always thought the o ring noise was a whine or something.

Well that is what I mention before......dambae said he had a similar issue, and the o-ring fixed it. My mechanic said he heard it with his partner was steering the car, but don't know if they pin point it at the pump. That is a good point though. I'm willing to trying anything before having to replacing the power steering rack.
Definitely try the o-ring replacement before anything! Costs under $2 for parts.
