Creaking noise when turning

Hello, I have a 2006 TL with 124,000 miles and manual transmission. I have taken good care of my car with proper maintenance for its entire life. I would really like to see it hit 200,000 before I sell it, so I ask you for your help.

My problem is I hear a very apparent creaking sound when turning at low speeds, i.e. first gear. By turning, I mean going from a stop to a 90 degree turn either left or right. It does not happen in reverse. This sound is more apparent at cold outside temperatures and when the car is cold. Once the car warms up, the sound is not as loud or I don't even notice it. Right now, where I am located, it averages 25 F in the morning and about 35 F during the day, which is normal a normal winter here.

For the majority of my car's life it has been outside. It has the original motor and transmission. This problem has been going on for about 2 months.

If it is needed, I can record the sound and post it on here.

Thank you for your time.

I will try to remember to post the fix if I find out outside this forum.

Other than that, my problem is a bit different than what you describe. The sound is not more or less apparent when steering is at 100% in wither direction. Also, it does not happen in reverse.

inspect your axles. If any of the boots are torn, good chance the axle needs replacing (CV Joint rebuild parts are as expensive or more expensive than replacing the whole thing anyway)

Mine does this as well when it's cold outside. I don't think it happens in reverse. It appears to go away when it warms up.

Axles look fine, it does not sound like axles anyways. It's more of a chatter/creaking not a clicking. It's a bit inconsistent as well.

my old bad axle sounded like a creaky ship's hull. Thats the best way that I can describe it.
