Cracked Rotor

Today I was rotating my tires and I saw that my rotor is cracked in two places... Is this included in the bumper to bumper warranty?

Brake parts are normally considered a wear item- your expense,
unless there is proof of defect in the part

Most likely they got used hard and possibly improperly over torqued and that caused it.
No way to tell without looking at the rotor
Heat kills

How old and what's the mileage on the car? How's much life is on the pad? Brakes are usually not covered under warranty due to it being a wear and tear item. Depending on the mileage..you can still get it under warranty. I have replaced several sets of rotors due to cracks and such at work. The best thing to do is get it to the dealer and let them look at it.

cracks? that sounds like a manufacturing defect, not something that can be coused by not driving properly, although torquing the lugs might do that. Take it to acura immeadeatly as the brakes are a very important aspect of the car.

Well my car is in the dealer for the weekend and I have a Type-S loaner... They are replacing my brakes and machining the rotors as well as a couple other things. I have 35,000 miles on my car. I did have to brake very hard on the highway not too long ago with very little brake pads left... Some idiot decided that since he took the wrong exit that he can turn around on the highway and challenge oncoming traffic... I braked really hard and had to swerve out of his way. I heard a loud bang from the front of my car... I'm guessing that was the rotors. Acura said they will take care of it... In the mean time i'm enjoying the Type-S for the weekend.... I don't want to take it back!!! lol

Lol, leave the country with it.

Also yes go to any track and you will see a few people will end up cracking their rotors from all that heat build up from braking so often. That's why ceramic brakes on the Ferraris cost so much they help rid heat the best and give great stoping power.

I got my car back today... I had allfour brakes replaced and the rotors machined. It was hairline cracks so they went away when the dealer polished the rotors. Paid $425 for all four brake pads and fixing rotors.
