Crack in subframe...

Has anyone else seen this before? Compliance bushing is good on this side, no idea what else could have caused this crack other than the frame failing...

Pictures are of the drivers side lower control arm connecting to the subframe.

Interesting, thanks man, I hadn't thought of that.

The warrantee company is sending some nerd to inspect it before they approve a repair, they already denied the dealership when they called so I called and sorted them out.

Hopefully its covered...

Yikes, that's pretty bad. You can literally jack the car up from there without ripping it... I'm with justn on this one, overtorqued seems like the most plausible answer.

idunno if i'm reaching here, but it certainly looks like the metal is ripping in the direction of tightening a bolt.

I know for a fact that this shop did both compliance bushings and I agree, it looks like it was over torqued and ripped!

The photos don't show it as well but it's definitely indented upward too. Kind of makes me think of twisting a soda bottle cap on too tight and the whole neck of the bottle twists with it and shortens, idk though.

Wow that would take a lot of force. I love it when shops use air tools to make a job go quicker with zero regard for anything else. Time is money- that's all that counts!
