Clutch slip on hard 3rd/4th gear shift?

So I just crossed the 600 mile mark and decided to lay into it for the first time. Took a rolling launch from 1st gear, power shifted into 2nd and got some decent wheelspin. When I shifted into 3rd though, instead of a chirp of the tires or even a small jolt I got about 1 second of clutch slip. A hard shift to 4th yielded the same thing. Now, I thought this might have had something to do with VSA preventing wheelspin but I turned it off, retried, same thing.

Is this normal? Obivously the clutch is brand new and working great since I'm getting a good bite going into 2nd. I've been driving MT's for years now (Eclipse GS-T, Integra GS-R, M3, S4) and I've never experienced this before even in the S4 with quattro. Maybe it's a safety feature

The clutch in the TL has a one way orface in the hydrolic line that is supposed to prevent the clutch from engaging abruptly, to protect the drivetrain.
In colder weather, its possable the fluid gets thicker and the orface effect is more noticable.
I suppose it would take a bit of practice to learn how to avoid excessive clutch
slip.....
I have not speed shifted the car, but 260hp through the clutch has got to be tough, abusing the car like you are has got to be tough on the entire powertrain...
Its not a race car, if you were going to drive like that, you might need stronger motor mounts and a stronger clutch. The electronic fluid filled motor mounts and the dual mass clutch setup are more for the luxury side of things, and abusing the car will not be good for those parts. They were not designed for that.

I always abuse the motorcylces, but luxury cars, and normal cars are not built to be driven like a corvette or other real sports car...

I agree that what I was doing is "abuse" and I'm not going to dispute that. However, this isn't something I'd do frequently, if at all. I was just wondering if this was "a feature" or if I had looming clutch problems to worry about. Thanks for the info.
