Clutch pressure changing

I've been having a problem with my car lately. When I drive normally without reving the engine near the redline I don't have a problem. When I push the engine near the redline and then shift the clutch pedal becomes a lot stiffer but does not stop me from shifting normally. Also the clutch pedal comes back to normal 30 seconds to a minute after becoming harder

The clutch still bites a lot did the test when going to 40mph and shifting the clutch in 6th gear.

Had the car tested by a mechanics today and the guy is used to work with transmission problems. He came to the same conclusion I had which is the master cylinder of the clutch. Nothing else is creating a problem. Changed the fluid to DOT 5.1 recently to make sure my fluid was not getting to hot and reaching boiling point.

I know as well that the clutch master cylinder in pretty much all Hondas/Acuras was a weakness during those years.

Anyone else experienced problem like this with their clutch?

Thanks

hell yes.

I bought my car with 31k miles.
had to change the clutch at 35k miles.

your clutch is in the beginning stages of slipping.
since we have dual mass flywheels and a hydraulic system, you cant tell that the clutch is going bad until it goes bad.
either the pressure plate or the fly wheel is scored and will need replacing.

I had the same sypmtoms as you.
HIGH RPM run, clutch would get stiff.
had to pump clutch a few times to get back normal feeling.

I changed out the clutch and problem solved.

Bad clutch, plug in a new one and the problem will go away.

^no.....clutch is a wear item.

if the clutch was improperly operated, it can go out at any time.

Just remember if it stays stiff for 4 hours consult a Dr.

I have 105k+ miles on my original clutch. I guess you win some and you lose some. But this is good info to know.

why?

I bought the vehicle used.
a combination of the previous owner, test drivers and myself learning how to drive the car led to an early death of the clutch.

like previously stated, if the clutch was driven properly, it can last a lifetime of the car.

when buying anything used, you shouldnt be surprised about ANYTHING.

I too have this problem. I never thought it would be the clutch, more like the clutch slave cylinder? My clutch doesn't slip at all and grabs very well (chirps the tires in 3rd). I figured the clutch system needed to be bled, which I tried myself with no change in feel. With my timing belt being due in a little over 1K and the car acting this way, I almost wanna trade it in. Hmm....
