Clutch pedal height problem

I have 100k on a 3G TL and for the last week or so I've noticed my clutch engagement (pedal height) changes. Sometimes it is normal and sometimes it's very close to the floor to the point I sometimes stall when starting out. A few months ago I changed the master cylinder due to the annoying clicking noise and bleed the system. I have no fluid leaks and the res. is full. Does anyone have any suggestions? I think it's odd that this is happening intermittently. I have no clutch slippage. The service manager at the dealer believes it may be a bad slave cylinder. I ordered one and will install this weekend.

Old school is to replace the master and slave together since they wear together. I don't know if that's true or not, but it sounds like you're replacing it no matter what.

If that doesn't work, I suspect there is an issue with the pressure plate.

Slave cylinder is a good place to start although rarely fails. My guess would be the clutch, more specifically the pressure plate.

Have you noticed any stiffness in the pedal?

if pedal is sinking its master cylinder.

it may have air in the system.
Re-bleed.

No stiffness in pedal. Received new slave cyl. yesterday. I will replace tomorrow. Before I replace it I will bleed the old one wjust to see if there is air in it. I'm doubting there will be air because it has worked fine for months and there are no leaks. Also the slave cyl. is squeaking when the pedal is depressed. Whatever that may mean.

Replaced the slave cylinder. Wow, I forgot what a nice clutch feels like. No problems, didn't even have to remove the battery or air filter housing to get to it as the manual says.
