Clutch pedal

Last week my clutch pedal got very soft/mushy after some spirited driving. It raised slowly on its own and then returned to normal after a few seconds. No grinding or noises and no difficulty shifting. Today my clutch was soft again for a few seconds again while driving normally. About 10minutes later it became very stiff. During the past week The pedal has been fine I'd say 85% of the time.

06 with 121,000miles. I replaced the slave cylinder (brand new) and did the check valve delete at about 100k. First time I'm having problems with the clutch pedal. The clutch doesn't slip when I'm in higher gear so I'm guessing the master cylinder could be the culprit? what do you guys think?

What color is the fluid in the MC reservoir? A bad MC usually deteriorates into the fluid. The clutch being worn could also be causing slippage.

The fluid was a a very light brown, almost clear. It was right at the min level so I filled the reservoir to max and I'll keep my eye on it. I didn't see any leaks or fluid around the slave cylinder, or by the clutch pedal master cylinder. The clutch doesn't slip at all, it's just is inconsistent with the pedal feel. Today it was fine...

The MC is on the way out. Replace it before you get stranded somewhere.

I will be replacing it this weekend. I've been looking at the DIY thread and some videos of Honda/Acura CMC replacement and it seems pretty straightforward. I'm seeing a lot of threads on the bleeding process and having difficulty doing so. The threads on here say to use a piece of wood to compress the slave cylinder and then start the bleeding process but I haven't seen that used on the videos I watched, or other Honda forums. What the reasons for doing this? any other tips on the install?

Also, would a "one man bleeder" kit be effective?

When it comes to the clutch bleeding, i could never do one man. Always had to get a helper otherwise pedal is soft. And I've bled many brakes with my mity vac too.
and the hardest part about the CMC replacement is getting the left bolt out (only way i found to work was to remove the relay that's in the way) and also of all things, getting the cmc reservoir bolt lined up.

Thanks for the reply and tips. I called a mechanic and they can do it for $130 (with me supplying the part). Seems like a no brainer to me. I've been coming across a lot of threads having trouble with the install and especially the bleeding process
