Clunking noise after Tein S-Tech install???

So the other day I installed a set of Tein S-Tech springs on my 2005 TL. They were installed on stock struts which I realize isn't the most ideal situation but the struts are in good shape with low miles and I don't plan on keeping the car too long so didn't see the point in investing a lot into a suspension. Every other car I have owned i've installed coilovers no questions asked lol.

Anyways I installed the springs, and driving down my driveway immediately after installing them I hear a clunking noise coming from the front over every little bump I hit. It almost sounds like the struts are blown but i'm about 95% sure thats not the case, because this noise just came about as soon as I put the springs on. The noise is a lot more noticeable going low speeds over little bumps. Anyways, so I pulled the car back in and rechecked over everything to make sure nothing was loose at all, and to make sure the spring was seated in the top hats well, everything is tight and can't find any issues anywhere. I even check other suspension components including swaybar endlinks and nothing seems to be worn out or loose. I've done some research and others were having a similar problem after installing lowering springs. Just wondering if anyone else on here has had this problem and can give any insight on the situation. Thanks!

Are the Teins lowering springs?
If they are, you probably shot the struts.
it could also be shock mounts but not so likely in your case. You would have had to examine it.

I installed H&R and 2 of my struts were blown within 10 miles. I then went Koni Yellow adjustables. Can't beat a lifetime warranty.

Clunk doesn't always mean blown shocks. It could be that you forgot to put a rubber spacer or installed something wrong when you put them back together and metal is hitting metal.

When the car is on the ground, are the springs compressed and settled in? If the sound is only coming from bumps, it could be that shock is expanding more than spring and spring getting some air or could be a bad install. Did you torque everything down properly?

I agree with this. This is most likely and install or assembly issue. This WILL involve removing the assemblies, breaking them down, re-assembling, and reinstalling.
