My "clunk" was the side motor mount (right front) - it was totally fragged. Now silent.

I'm surprised a smallest bump would cause a heavy engine the shake and rattle and make noise.... but whatever

You wouldn't be if you saw the mount - or what was left of it. The thing fell apart as it was taken out...

I think I may have the same problem. When I start the engine in the mornings, or whenever, I hear a THUD when I stop cranking. Why can't honda make a thing like a motor mount last longer? Its not a moving part for crying out loud. I dunno, I've been eye'ing this. http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/ctd/2138398002.html

Strut mount Bushing was my issue and now i am clunk free!

My passenger side clunk cost me $12.00 and $50.00 rental fee for a spring compressor to fix my annoying clunk that took 1 year to track down. Change the strut mount bushings and you'll be riding clunk free!
Following these forums made me spend money on things i didnt need to replace right away but what the hell, I have a whole new front end suspension and the car rides great...
Just wish i had known it was the strut mounts bushing from the start.
Get those strut mounts replaced people!!!!
