Clunk from rear

So I just installed megan coilovers and the rears are clunking a lot when I drive slow or go over bumps. When I installed the rears, I did not remove the endlinks from the bracket, I just removed the whole bracket. When I went to line up the bracket to put the new coils in, I used a jack to lift up the endlinks because they were impossible to move by hand. I don;t know if the endlinks could be the reason or what since I didn't take loosen those at all. The nuts at the top, under the rear shelf are tight.

Get back under there and check for play.

Did you tighten all the bolts ? Are your coilovers used?

So I checked for play in the endlinks and I can move the passenger side endlinks up with my hands. This is the side that was tough for me to line the bracket back up when putting the bolt back through the suspension. Does this mean that the endlinks are bad, or possibly the bracket? I tried the drivers side endlinks and couldn't move them at all.

Thanks

^definitely start with the small things first...bolts, end links, sway bar bushings, etc.

I never had any clunks with the coilovers. before I ever installed them, I even checked the nut below the dampening adjuster nut for tightness too.

^Would these need to be replaced before reinstalling? because they were basically brand new (>3k miles). These coilovers comes preassembled as one unit, no oem top hats required.

Are the locking perches tight also? Click here for more diagnosing/fixes

if they are new then they are not the issue unless defective

I fixed it! The passenger end link was just barely loose. I forgot that I tried to take the end link off of the bracket when the bracket wouldn't line up at first lol. Now no clunking! Yay! Now just to get the camber kit on and alignment finally haha.

I have a question about coilovers in general though. When I was adjusting the height on mine, the fronts and rears would be off a little bit from driver's to passenger's side (ex the front driver's side measurement from perch to perch is different than the passenger's side length from perch to perch by like .5 inches, and same with the rear).

So I'm just wondering, is it bad if the coilover lengths are different on each side? Or should they all be the same? Because it seems very hard to get them to be the same while getting the same distance from ground to fender. Thanks guys, I am still new to the coilover/suspension side of things as you can probably tell haha.

The coilovers should match up almost exactly, since they are the same length when manufactured. You should search for the bushing relaxing DIY around the 3G garage.

The only real variables here are the bushings that mount thru the new coilovers. If you tighten them while the vehicle is in the air, the bushing may twist and when you finally set it on the ground-it will look uneven at each corner.
