Check engine code 61-1, 68-1 & P2243 help
ok, my check engine popped up this morning. Took it to Auto Zone they ran the code scanner and got back the following.
61-1 battery , 68-1 brake switch failure and P2243. The P2243 is the Oxygen sensor correct? The 61-1, this can be from the battery to the alternator? Can anyone help me out by giving me some clues on where these are and how to replace them so i can replace them please.
My car is a 2004 Acura TL. 3.2

Sounds like a voltage spike or battery issue. Have the battery and charging system checked. My bet is a bad battery although I suppose it's possible that a brake switch short could have caused all this. When was the last time the battery was replaced?

I checked the battery voltage at cold start and it was at 12.50 Volts, i turned the car on and it was at 14.23 volts, with the car on and with radio, wipers, lights, etc it was at 14.14 volts.
The battery was replaced on 9/12.
Thanks for the reply.

Any starting or drivability issues?
Check the battery clamps and both ends of each battery cables-- the negative clamp tends to get loose, and the positive clamp & cable seem to corrode.
The cable issues have led to intermittent problems for several members.
Clean and tighten to see if that's what caused the battery code.

ok, so i had the battery check and it was bad. I got a new one and everything seemed fine on the way home. Next morning half way to work, engine and air bag came on. I stopped by Autozone and the same codes came up they checked the battery and it's at 12.75 volt on off.
So I am going to replace the parts.
The P2243 is the Oxygen sensor, but which one? diagram and how to replace it would be nice please
the 61-1 61-1 open circuited In Driver Seat Belt Buckle Switch is going to be check and hopefully replaced by my local Acura dealer.
The 68-1 brake switch failure, where is the switch so i can replace it. A diagram would be great please.
Thanks for your help.

Can some one please tell me the oem part number for the 02 sensor that i need to replace? I looked for the 02 sensor last night and i found one in the front of the engine and one on the top back of the engine by the fire wall. Is the one on the back of the engine Bank1, sensor 1?
Some help would be great i would like to get this fixed before it causes other issues.

Here I come!
If you really plan on fixing all 3, i would start with just the 02 sensor first. Have you tried clearing the codes first and then seeing they come back? I would do that first, then if the engine light comes back on, have the codes read again to see if it's the same ones.
13-1 Left front wheel speed sensor
61-1 Battery voltage malfuction
68-1 Brake switch malfunction
83-1 ECM PCM malfunction
86-1 (???)
P0302 Cylinder 2 misfire
P0304 Cylinder 4 misfire
77-04 (???)
These are all the codes that I had at one point and it ended up being just one of the coils.
Wish I had more time to help, but I've been so busy lately that I hardly get on here anymore.
