Changing VIN on Ecu
#1
Does anyone know a way or a tool that will change the vin on the ecu without finding a dealer to do it? I need to swap ecu's but really dont want to have to tow to a dealer and try to explain to them the situation (my honda/acura dealer is only into selling new cars not fixing or dealing at all with older ones)
Thanks for your help
I am about to switch Ecus and wondering if there is anyone out there that I can send the ecu to to have the vin changed? My local dealer would rather sell new cars and they are terrible to try to get work like this out of. I doubt I could even get them to do it. I have thought about trying to buy an hds tool off eBay or such but after a fair amount of research I don't think I would be able to change the vin. It is 07-08 ecu. Thanks for your help.

No. It will actually be a factory setup. I have an 05 that someone put an 07-08 engine and trans in. So I am re pinning and adding a few wires to the ecu/engine harness and putting the 07-08 ecu in. Can you do it without hondata? You will be a lifesaver...
