Cel p0420

I drove my car this morning and it popped up on me i have a cheap obd2 code reader that tells me the code but thats it. I did my research on it and it seems to be either my o2 sensor or my bank one catalytic converter. and my code reader wont erase the code either.

Have you tried talking the negative terminal off your battery to reset? If you do this, make sure you have your Navi and Radio codes.

If this is a genuine catalyst efficiency failure (and not a faulty downstream O2 sensor) you can try a O2 sensor defouler, which will keep the O2 from sensing that the catalytic converter has failed. XLR8 or HeelToeAuto should have these.
