CEL Flashing at WoT

So i floored my car from a light today and i got a CEL flashing for a little bit, as soon as it turned on i stopped WoT and drove normally, it flashed for about 15 seconds then stopped and turned off.

Possible causes?

misfires...if there's no code..there's not much that you can tell. auto or manual? it could be bad plug, bad coil, bad battery/connections, bad EGR... whole bunch of stuff...untill you get a code, its hard to diagnose

ever mis-shift? overrev? dont be ashamed to say if you did...doesnt make u a worse driver, these things happen everyday. but if it happened to you, i could safely say your exhaust valves are bent.

if this isn't the case...then we need a set code.

Never overrevved, or mis shift, i mean ive failed at it, as i learned on this car but i've never went past the rev limiter because i accidentially went from third to second, anything like that. Brought it to autozone to have it scanned and it passed. Im not quite sure what else to do aside from have acura check it out when i bring it in for an oil change soon

Edit: need to add, drove the car all day yesterday nothing, went wot a couple times to see, feels fine, smooth, no cels. Im obviously not beating on it until i get it checked but i dont feel anything wrong

no traction?

If u floor it and the (!) light blinks, that means ur tires arent sticking to the ground.

are u still on stock tires?

can you repeat it?can u make the cell come back on?

possible vtec solenoid issue if u were in wot n vtec came on. MANY MANY factors. try to replicate it. if not maybe just a one time thing that came on then right off.

This has happened to me before. ive gotten the CEL at WOT. first time i did it it was flashing and i got off the throttle. 2nd time it was CEL was solid and the codes were misfires in cyl 1 and 5.

Also it never happened to me untill i put on the XLR8 Catback. i dont think i got misfires tho cause i didnt feel anything...... hasnt happened since then tho.

I know what the traction light is heh it was the cel and I've been unable to reproduce it and my car is stock, for now I'm just thinking since there was a ton of wheel hop I rattled a sensor around too much, I'll be taking it easy tho And I'll ask acura about it when I go in next for sure

DUDE..if you were at WOT on low gear, and you had wheelhop while pushing the car...your cel will flash...its almost as knock, but not really internal knock. its engine and drivetrain shock....if cel doesnt flash when your at WOT on high gears, then you're ok.

theres wheel hop...and then there's WHEEL HOP lol..

let me drive your car, and we shall see lol

all jokes aside, it happens a lot...ive done on a few 6mt TLs
the early ones.

it wont set it off..but it will blink...and sometimes u wont even see it, bcs well, ur tires are spinning, ur wheel hopping, i think ur eyes need to be on the road more than anywhere else...ive missed it quiet a few times...but its gotta be a heavy nasty hop...the kind u dont want.. either way. i had to throw it out there.

Had the EXACT same issue... ended up being a bad ecu error. The dealer fixed it by upgrading the ECU software... its a common occurrence on the 04 TL's might have overlapped into some 05s... NOT SURE THOUGH... its worth a trip to the dealer to find out.
