Check engine light is on again. Brought it to the dealer a couple of weeks ago and they said "misfire on cyclinder 5" Said it was basically no big deal and reset the ECM. Here iI am 3 weeks later and the CEL came on again. I have a feeling it is bad gas. (it seemed to happen not to long after filling up ... again)

ANy idead how to reset the ECM? Is it as easy as pulling th ECM fuse?


Any other posibilities. The delaer is an hour away and i would rather not deal with them unless I have to.

Well, I would say take it to them just so it gets documented because this could lead to future problems... You shouldnt have this problem more than once unless you use the same gas station and they have bad gas, in which case I wouldnt get gas at that place anymore.

Anyway, you can disconnect the battery ground for a few min and that would reset it also. Not sure about which fuse would...

I just woudlnt because I would rather them no and handle incase its a defect with the car or a year down the road something happens and they blame on you when it in fact may not have been you or the gas...

 

its not bad gas... a misfire could be a # of things if it came back go back. they should check sparks wiring and a bunch of other shit.

 

suck it up and take it to the stealer. this is exactly why your standard warranty is worth your money that you paid for the car. call your sa to make an appointment and get a loaner before you go in.

i mean, u could go to autozone and use a scanner for free to reset the code but it's gonna come up again in a few weeks. u gonna do that for the entire time u own the car? get your stealer to fix it.
