CD player clicks, "busy" NON STOP
My CD player drives me nuts...
The first day I bought my car, I drove it home 1,000mi with my brother. Shortly after leaving the dealer, I noticed the CD player is doing the eject clicking every couple seconds at ~5 second intervals. Annoying as hell. We turn the volume up, but its still in the back of our minds so we still notice it. A few hours into the drive it starts doing a super loud BEEP in the speakers (probably at least volume 30) every few seconds. I pull the car over a few times, turn it off (because I figure its an electrical issue that needs to reset) and back on to continue the trip. After I'm home a week, I'm so pissed about the eject click, I jam (half way and then out) a CD into the CD player and now the clicking stops every few seconds. Now it's only every 10-15 seconds, one quick click, which is unnoticeable 95% of the time while driving and playing music via AUX or XM. When I'm parked and about to get out I still hear the one eject click. What the hell is going on with this thing? I've pulled fuses and reset everything several times on separate days. For all I know, there're no CDs in the changer.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I've researched the hell out of this and haven't found anything relating to my exact issue. I just want the damn CD clicking to go away. A CD player is like the new cassette player, pretty much useless.

Is there any indication the player "thinks" there are discs in it? You didn't say if you are Nav or not so the display would be different. On a non-Nav there would be up to 6 CD icons possibly illuminated. Not sure on the Nav where that would show but figure in the audio display. If there's any possibility of discs in it then one certainly could be jammed. I'm also guessing there's no error message, like "CD ERR", or you would have said so. The head unit will beep as you describe under certain conditions (like pushing and holding SCAN and RPT buttons to change a DVD-A group) but the way you describe is not normal. But in any event it doesn't really matter as the likely truth is the unit has to come out and either be repaired or replaced. I don't think any amount of "resetting" or trying to jam anything into it will work
CD player failures aren't uncommon for the car. In many cases folks just use the AUX, or add one to earlier 3GTLs, and move on. In your unlucky case you have a failure more that is truly annoying. If you are reasonably handy, or have a friend that is, the good news is that used replacement units aren't that expensive on ebay. You'd have to do the research on which P/Ns are for your car but if you DIY you might get out of it in the 200-300 dollar range. For more money you could just go with an aftermarket upgrade but that's a whole different direction and my guess is you would have mentioned an intent to upgrade the system entirely. The only possible wrinkle is I think the TL-S has active noise cancellation so it may need a different head unit. I don't think it does but it might. Even more reason you will need to be clear on what part number you need for your car. One way to do that is go to an oem parts site (like Acura Parts OEM Acura Parts Factory Acura Parts) and enter your VIN to look up the part. Better is to just get the information off of the unit itself.
There's tons of youtubes for how to remove the unit. If it were me I'd pull the unit and open it up and see if there's anything obviously broken or jammed in it and see if I could get it to the point where it doesn't click anymore. If not I'd find one from a well rated ebay seller and just replace it. It's a 10 year old used car. If all you have to add to it after purchase is a few hundred bucks to it you will be doing very well indeed.
Lastly don't be pissed. This will pass and you will end up with a great car. Post back with questions. There are many here who will help.

I have a CD/Radio unit for $125 + shipping.
My unit has ITB2 on the tape deck door and the model number is 39100-SEP-A410
Check the P/N's to see if they are compatible. If they are send me a PM and we can setup payment and shipping.

I have the Type S (red interior lights) so your deck would look weird at night (blue). If I did replace it, I might as well just get a double din. Only bad part is it'd look funny with a square screen in there and holes on each side from the big volume and seek knobs.
