I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what the cause for a bad catalytic converter could be. I have a 2006 tl with 24000 miles and this is the second time the dealership is replacing it. I thought they usually last the duration of the car. Should i address this with the dealership when I pick the car up? Any response or help would be appreciated.

do you drive it hard and fast and get bad smells from under the car- that will be one cause

Otherwise keep your mouth shut- the cat has a 80k mile warranty on it and they are not cheap- nearly a grand iirc
Perhaps acura got a bad batch of ones for the assembly line, and used the same ones on replacements
Kind of like the gen2 transmission saga

Basically your car is running too rich and it is ruining the cats
