car won't go into gear help!

i dropped my friend off in my 2006 tl manual. As i was i leaving around the corner, i went to put the car into first gear and heard this nasty grinding clickety sound. None of the gears worked after that. I cruised over and parked the car. While still and i put it into first (or any) gear, nothing happens. When i take it out of gear, this nasty grinding sound takes place for a few seconds. Anybody know what this could be before i get it taken in to get it at looked at?

Sounds like you may have some broken dog teeth or blocker rings.

Is your car modified?
Do you drive it very hard or do you race it?
Have you ever experienced any sort of transmission problems before this?
Were there any symptoms indicating pending problems before this happened?
Is it still under warranty?

One other possibility is broken synchros.

Broken synchro was my first guess, but you say it wont go in any gear I think you got a bigger problem than that. I don't think you have a choice but to tow it in. Sorry to hear that, that sucks big time.
