Car stutters when I floor it 5000 to 5500 rpm

Please heIp! New to acurazine. I have a 07 acura tl type s 120k when I floor it in 1st and 2nd gear around 5000 to 5500 my car stutters then finishes through the rest of the rpm. there is no check engine light on in my car the ac isn't on and the only other time it did this is when my car was low on oil and I got the oil changed that was 2 month ago I don't know if it does this in the other gears I haven't tried it. Only mod is ame cold air intake

Are you and automatic trans or a manual trans? First thing I would do is pull your spark plugs and take a look. Have they ever been changed?

When you say stutter.... does it mean it just climbs, and then once it hits 5000, it slows, and then gets going again?

It climb normal then around 5000-5500 it Like a jerking stutter.
When I drive normal there's nothing wrong with my car.

Could be the APP sensor (but it doesn't sound like the culprit here as its constantly happening at 5000 rpm). Maybe throttle body or intake manifold butterflies being strange?

See if it happens in other gears.

^Could be that too.

I forgot to ask about the clutch. have you tried parking the car on a hill and starting out in second to see if it slips badly? Is it slipping at all?

If you were to start out in first gear at 2000 rpms.... does it run fine until it hits 5000? If so, then vtec solenoid might be the culprit.

^get the engine code read.
that's the only real clue that is going for you.

six speed and stuttering!? lol may have bent some valves

How does the car idle?

Bent valves would usually show themselves at idle under normal (higher) vacuum situations. If they were bent bad enough to cause stumbling through the rpm range, anyway (at least thats how it was in my case).

Wonder if the car could have jumped time?

^that's what my car is displaying after a friend over-rev'd the engine

at idle, it sounds like it's cam'd. "loop loop loop "
but at speed it doesnt display any misses.

I'm in the process of tearing down my heads now.

Yep, thats exactly how my car was when I let my dad borrow my car. He did 2-3-2, and at idle, it was nasty (complete with the flashing CEL). Up through the rpms, though... no issues.

So in the OPs case, it doesn't sound like bent valves. But, start with the easy(ier) stuff and work your way through the list.

First step is to get the code. My bet is a misfire or solenoid error.

Got it checked it said misfire 1 2 3 4 and 6. But I changed all the ignition coils and all spark plugs (ngk platinum) 3 months ago. Could spark plugs be the reason my car is acting like this?

^well, you need to check.

if you did the spark plug job, it will be your job to inspect your workmanship.
Pull the coil packs and make sure all the plugs are nice and tight.

Every cylinder but 5 had a misfire? That's odd.

^ive found that the computer doesnt really know which cylinder is loosing compression.
ive seen it on my friends TL with a bent valve and most recently my ride...

I hooked up an OBDII scanner and checked for codes...
5 of 6 cylinders were missing.
However, I know that's rarely the case for my situation. (only cuz my friend over-rev'd his engine a few years earlier)

it's usually just one or two cylinders that lose compression. not 5!!

So, while I believe that the OP's car is "missing" it's not all 5 or six cylinders.

Recheck the torque on the spark plugs, AJ!

Even with bent valves, compression can be fine. Leakdown is another story, though.

Its just weird he replaced all the coils and plugs just a few months ago and now its misfiring. Like you said, first place to start is rechecking the torque on the plugs

Blinking CEL

But now there's a check engine light that won't go away misfire in 1 3 and 6 and random misfiring but I don't wanna post a another thread because I see people get mad when there's already a threat about misfiring but I've read all the threads and my situation is different... Is someone ask I'll give details it's would be awesome to get this light to go away.

sorry to let you know this way.....

but you or some one over-rev'ed the car.
the heads are fucked.

you need to get a leak down and a compression test done to make sure.

then once you are sure that you need the heads replaced, replace the heads.

OK so the original stuttering has been fixed I'm really embarrassed to say the reason was low oil I got if changed at a jiffy lube because between work and the bad weather at the time I couldn't do it myself.. I checked all this other stuff and took it to a shop and they couldn't guess either, I read a threads and threads and someone on another thread said check the oil.... So I did that for mine there a little dot at the bottom of the oil stick I added oil and no more shutter.. Did an oil change myself. Checked for leaks there was none and I don't over Rev my car when I drive when there a empty open road I'll downshift and go but I drive normal majority of the time. Reason I didn't say anything earlier because I forgot my password to get in here.. but vtec still engages and my car drives fine and no weird idle but this engine light with the misfiring code just won't go away. Saving my money for the worst case scenario that could be wrong with my car. Thanks again for taking time to look at my thread

^I'm guessing here, but judging by your prior post about going into "limp mode", maybe it could be your APP sensor? Here is link below to read, and see if it's the same problem. Idk, just a guess.

https://acurazine.com/forums/problem...sensor-730958/

EDIT: P0305 I believe is a code for misfire.

I have an '04 TL, and had random misfire's on all cylinders after full throttle runs in 2nd gear. I looked up TSB's and found one for random misfires and the ecu had to be updated. If I remeber right, it cost me $50, and no issues since. This was years ago.....
